Sidarith
The White Moon
Domains: Knowledge, Arcana, Twilight
Also known as Sidarith, the White Moon is the bigger of the two moons travelling Gimiin’s skies, and the slower. As a goddess, she is depicted as a tall and serene humanoid with braided white hair, often holding a book in one hand and an arcane light in the other. She is the goddess of truth, knowledge and arcana, worshiped by scholars and wizards. It is her people thank, when they have uncovered new knowledge or realized something they had not understood before, and it is to her young mages pray for clarity and focus in their studies.
The sun loved watching the world, but it was a large world to keep its eye on. Thus, it created and awakened the moons, to wander as it was, and be where it could were not be. The moons accepted their assignment gladly, but each had an ulterior motive. The older, Sidarith, saw the creatures of the world struggling to make sense of their lives. When the sun was far enough away, she would flow down her light and give people knowledge of the gods and the worlds, and even of the ways of magic. With her aid, people found a way to use magic without having to be lent it from their gods. When the Sun discovered this, it was greatly angered, and wanted to burn both Sidarith and her shared knowledge from the world. But she was protected by the Crow Queen, the keeper of history, who shielded her from the Sun’s judgment and argued the value of what she had given creation. The Sun eventually relented, but declared it never wanted to see Sidarith again. This is why the largest moon always stays away during the day, and always shines so brightly at night.
