Session 03-The Horror Grows

Summary

You took out the book-monsters that had attacked you, with hardly a scratch on you, well done! Drawn by the noise of battle, a genre-book named Horror and 3 guardsmen arrived too late to help fight, but they were persuaded to stay with your party to aid you on your mission to fight the bookworm infestation, in hopes that you can then help with mimics that have been reported in this section. You also opened a secret room where you found some loot, a deceased goblin named "Snappy", and a letter bemoaning his fate looking for treasure on the advice of someone named "Jack". The raven that trapped Snappy inside did not do the same to you. Horror is now guiding you to the cave where the book you are looking for should be found. You crossed the bridge and encountered a young woman looking for somewhere to read, and decide to take a short rest in her company, with a bard song and some Young Adult Fiction stories.

Notes

• fought off the rest of the goosebumps monsters and found out we can just close books to get rid of creatures like that also so Frankenstein's Monster was sent back home (to try to kill Frankenstein)
• Horror showed up with a small entourage and told us he needed to take care of a mimic infestation in a haunted house
  • we offered to help but were told we needed more experience first didn't want to kill fresh librarians
  • Gouda and Thistle convinced him to stay with us and help us with the bookworms first to at least show us where they were and then we might be able to help with the mimics
• solved a short puzzle with some hinged tree branches which led to a secret room where we picked up some items and a body of a goblin named Snappy who was trapped the hidden room and died with a shortbow, a blowgun, and an expired potion of invisibility (still good)
• met the lady with the green ribbon and took a short rest (reading YA to heal her) Jenny
