Session 05-Secrets of the Written Realms
Summary
These few minutes of battle and exploration felt like they lasted two hours (sorry again for GM delays!) - Horror has now ferried all except Young Adult into the Written Realms (but she does have a machine gun for protection), an area he says is within the library books themselves. Bats and spiders have fallen to Thistle's vicious mockeries and Young Adult's bullets, and even the lake monster seems pacified for a moment having dragged one of the book-guards into the water with it. Thistle also rescued Crinkle from being swarmed, earning his effusive praise. Inside the Written-Realms-version of the cave: Rollie and Gouda looted 30 gold, a (used) ivory peg leg, and a silver sickle from the shallow pool and located a mysterious gold necklace floating above a glowing red rune circle. Thashallot's arcane knowledge divined that this ritual was intended to draw some kind of power into the amulet (as Gouda suggested: perhaps imagination?), and she also saved the group from magical harm while dismantling the rune circle. Rollie's dagger struck true and knocked the necklace out of the circle, causing the circle to vanish, and the once-empty cave began to feel a little less empty. Any misplaced noises appear to be drawing creatures near to you. Gouda examined the necklace thoroughly and it is quite clear the sigil upon it, a broken animal horn, indicates this belongs to the former-archdevil Gargauth. Crinkle has pointed you all to the northeast corner of the cave, where he thinks the book that you were looking for can be found.
