Session 06-If You Give A Kobold A Cookie

Summary

You quickly exited the Written Realms on the other side of the cave into a space now cleared of monsters. All creatures that you perceived in the Written Realms also disappeared as soon as you exited. On a shelf you found a very beaten-up book: blackened and flaking with ash, with little white worms wriggling in holes throughout it, and quite illegible. Crinkle instructed you to draw a symbol on the cover with your temporary library card to enter the book, with the tingly sensation of falling asleep. The colorful world you found inside was covered with worms chewing the terrain, messing up the text on the pages, and creating black voids through which only vague, distant images could be seen of a house and cave. A charred and crazy-eyed kobold kid begged you for cookies, but he went back to his campfire after you didn't have any. The small worms did not put up a fight, they just chewed and multiplied. And when they popped their goey worm guts got all over most of your feet and legs. You were successful in using the sleep spell and spin attacks, and even a fire-breath from Rollie, to prevent the worms from multiplying too quickly, or from them merging into larger worms - only one larger worm appeared, and you dispatched it easily, though only after it took an acidic bite out of Thashallot's shoulder. Once the worms were dispatched, the papery terrain regrew itself and the gooey worm remains slowly dissolved. As the holes disappeared the book's cover took shape: a cute little kobold surrounded by a bunch of cookies, showing you the official title "If You Give a Kobold A Cookie", and you wondered how it ended up in the Horror section. Your characters feel quite experienced from the battles you've had, and are now Level 4.
