You poked around the cave a bit more, discovering the hole in the corner was simply dirt and roots, and empty, and that the altar-looking dais in the middle flashes blue when someone steps off it. The four pillars around it have colored squares of red, yellow, green and blue. Thashallot tried turning the pillars but with no success, but did manage to rip the wooden sign for Prehistory out of the ground. Grizzlemaw, angrily recovering from his tears, threatened you that he no longer wanted the 5 million gold but wished the armies of Gargauth would crush all you for what you did. Rollie attempted to make amends, and Gouda knocked Grizzlemaw unconscious. Gargauth, as Gouda explained, is a former archdevil of Avernus who throughout history has often made trouble even for other devils while trying to claw his way back into power. History went to check the Written Realms and came back in a panic to ferry the party over - the orc from before was beside another amulet floating above a sigil on top of the altar, and the realm itself appears to be empty and tearing apart, giant voids appearing as if a great wind was blowing through, focused on the altar and amulet. Rollie knocked the amulet down and a crushing sense of the weight of history affected Thistle and Rollie with 1 point of exhaustion. Thistle grabbed the amulet and ran from the orc, who began to age as he too ran from the group, and he used the purple crystal to return to the Real Realms much aged. Thashallot and Gouda raced back to catch him, while a golden hollyphant peeks around a bookshelf, watching.
